FOR CLIENTS
Booking a Counselling Appointment
- How do I access counselling services at Talk It Out?
Although Talk It Out is a short-term counselling service, we understand that long-term support is often necessary. As such, we work closely with a wide range of community partners across the Greater Toronto Area who are able to support you after you are finished your sessions with us. Because this continuity of care is important to us, we are unable to receive self-referrals at this point in time.
If you are interested in accessing services at Talk It Out, the first step is to reach out to one of our community partners listed here. Once you are connected through one of these agencies, they can discuss with you whether Talk It Out is suitable for you. If so, they can send us a referral and we will connect with you shortly afterward.
- How long will I have to wait to see a counsellor?
We make every effort to keep the wait time as short as possible. On average, once your community worker sends us your referral form, a Talk It Out student counsellor will reach out to you within one week using your preferred method of communication (e.g., phone, email). However, please note that there are several transitional periods during the year where the wait may be longer.
