The Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work (FIFSW) Talk It Out Online Counselling Clinic (the Clinic) provides free counselling services to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) community who are 16 years of age or older. Counselling is conducted via video therapy, phone and instant messaging over a secure platform. The Clinic is staffed by supervised graduate Social Work Students who receive supervision from registered Social Workers with extensive experience.
The Clinic is a timely response to the drastically increased mental health needs across our communities. The COVID-19 pandemic has made visible deep-seated racial, social and economic inequalities within communities across the GTA. Our staff are committed to addressing the inequalities experienced by Black and low-income communities, and operate through the lens of anti-black racism and anti-oppressive practice.
Online counselling offers unique benefits, including cost-effectiveness and reducing barriers faced by individuals looking to access counselling.
